Neumann VMS 70 Vinyl Cutting Lathe

The Neumann VMS70 cutting lathe came into service in 1970 and still today is the mainstay of most professional lacquer cutting systems in the world. The blank lacquers are placed onto the turntable, which then rotates. The cutting head is lowered onto the lacquer and starts to cut grooves as it travels across the rotating disc, with audio being cut into the surface of the lacquer.
