Henry Cullen

Henry Cullen has always been involved with vinyl. From his early days as a kid listening to the latest records to the preset day still producing music that is released on vinyl. He started his career out playing drums in a band in the mid 80s at the age of 16 (They got signed, recorded an album, never really got anywhere) but quickly progressed to recording and production, and has been working as a professional audio engineer now for almost 30 years.
In the mid 90’s, Henry got fully involved in music production. He became part of a London based electronic music studio and started to learn the basics of recording, working in an analogue studio, which included a very early HD recording system called “Soundscape”. It was very early days for digital recording and Henry went on to make many records with the Liberator DJs and many other techno artists, eventually receiving a Gold Disc for his work on “Twisted” a rave anthem by Wayne G which Henry recorded, mixed and co-produced. Henry always used to attend the cuts of his records, mostly at Porky’s in London where he took a massive interest in the process of cutting vinyl.
More recently, several studio builds, and many records later, Henry studio is now based in Kent, working on many diverse music projects, mostly electronic but over the years he has worked on many different styles of music including rock, punk, dub and techno under the alias D.A.V.E. The Drummer.
Henry is a beta tester and tutor for some of the worlds best music software companies, such as Roland, Arturia, Abelton Live and Plug In Alliance.
His depth of knowledge of music and production as a musician and engineer has seen him at the forefront of the electronic music scene for many years. He is now a regular mastering engineer for several respected record labels and has just joined the team at Curve Pusher as mastering and cutting engineer.
